Popis The publication presents the purpose of professional learning networks in societal and educational contexts describing the main characteristics of these networks and conditions for successful cooperation within and between schools. Also, motivation and behaviour of teachers involved and, mainly study to the role of headteachers and their tsks in the process of professional learning networks creation, support and maintenance are paid attention to. Then results of quantitative and qualitative research carried out in six European countries (Belgium, Czech Republic, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, and United Kingdom) are presented. The aim of this research was to recognize and describe headteachers´experiences with professional learning networks management and educational and other needs, in this respect.
