| Popis | The close contact of the Basque language with Romance languages over time has had profound consequences on the lexicon and historiography of both fields. The influence of Basque on the Spanish language is of great importance because of the prolonged contact between them in the same territory. Thus, although Spanish has always been in a position of superiority over Basque, it has continuously incorporated a certain number of lexical elements from the latter. The aim of the paper is to introduce a reconstruction of the tradition of the Spanish language compiled in etymological and bilingual dictionaries. Given the breadth of information contained in dieerent works, in addition to the scarcity of previous works in this line of research, the insertion of Spanish phraseological units serves as a guide to suggest possible itineraries followed by diverse lexicographical traditions until their integration in the dictionaries today. |
