| Popis | The article provides a systematic review of new sources identified between 2012 and 2023 that are significant for research into the life and work of Kristijonas Donelaitis (1714–1780), preserved in archives in Germany and the United States of America. It examines documents relating to Donelaitis’s studies at the University of Königsberg, his service in Stallupönen (Stalupenai), and the long Tolminkiemis period, including administrative correspondence, parish registers, legal and economic records, as well as previously unknown German-language autographs written in Donelaitis’s own hand. Particular attention is devoted to the analysis of newly rediscovered photographic copies of the Tolminkiemis baptismal register (1725–1754), which substantially enrich Donelaitis’s biography, allow for a more precise reconstruction of his network of social relations, clarify circumstances of his family life, and illuminate features of his written expression. The article also discusses sources related to Donelaitis’s practical activities (such as the commissioning of church organs, the repair of the church and parsonage, the acquisition of a new liturgical chalice) as well as the case file concerning the separation of Tolminkiemis land holdings. The newly identified archival materials fundamentally expand the source base of Donelaitis studies and open up new perspectives for further philological, historical, and cultural research. |
