Designing multimedia

E-learning courses do not need to be full of long texts or scans from textbooks. You can also use various types of multimedia study materials.

What options are available?

Do you want to make your course content attractive for students? Are you tired of making one and the same lecture every year and would prefer discussion with the students in the classroom? Or do you want to be sure that students will always get the same information and you will not have to worry about forgetting anything in your lectures? Then consider making learning videos.

Do you teach a language course and want to prepare listening materials or tests for your students? If so, you can use audio recordings in your course.

Do you prefer if your students get engaged in discussion in classes instead of thinking about what to write down during your lecture? Does your course include a guest lecture that you would also like to use in the future? You can easily record the lecture and publish it afterwards in the Medial, the faculty media library, and make it a part of your e-learning courses, or you can make it public and available for anyone.

Do you want to create a simple screencast for your students as a guide for using a computer program? Or do you want to provide feedback to students, which will have a bit more personal nature than a plain text with your assessment? TechSmith Relay enables recording your computer screen or making a video recording using your webcam. You can then upload your recording directly to Medial.

Thinking about your multimedia experience

Have you got a clear idea how to use multimedia in your project? Are you able to capture and process the audio or video by yourselves? If your answer to any of these questions is 'no', we recommend visiting the Video Studio website and finding out more about the services we offer. You can arrange consulting to learn more about how the multimedia part of your project should be implemented appropriately.

If you need assistance with your project from the video studio staff, it is necessary to consult the form of cooperation in advance. Without the arrangement, the video studio cannot guarantee that it will be able to dedicate an appropriate amount of time and resources for your project.
