The Hilsner Case on the big screen: premiere of a documentary and a discussion with the director

The award-winning documentary The Future Shapes the Past: The Hilsner Case revisits the murder of Anežka Hrůzová in Polná, which in 1899 sparked one of the most intense anti-Semitic campaigns in the Czech lands. Drawing on new evidence, it re-examines issues surrounding the Hilsner trial and demonstrates how prejudice can shape public opinion and institutional decisions.
