We will describe the modern German conservatism taken as a complex of ideas which have been present not only in the general political, but in the philosophical and literary discourse as well. We will try to follow the key points of the development of conservatism; its first manifestations in romanticism; the national conservatism in the 19th century; Ideas 1914 and Conservative revolution; the question of its share in the establishment of Nazism; and the post-war neo-conservatism. Partial results will be published in magazines and the main output (during the 3rd year) will be an anthology of translations of the key texts of the German conservatism (250-300 p.) accompanied by clarifying papers (150 p.) and prepared for publishing. We will strive for a balanced approach not only in the evaluation of the phenomena but in their selection as well. The decision on the litaral-essayistic, theoretical-political and philosophical texts will be based on their significance for the given context.
