Deregulation processes in education have lead to an increasing autonomy of schools all over Europe. All actors involved in school life are facing new challenges in teaching and learning, curriculum, management, staff development, quality assurance, etc. ESDP creates a European Training Course on School Autonomy, building on existing best practice examples in 5 countries. Based on the analyses of best practice examples in 15 pilot schools in the 5 participating countries a curriculum and a "tool box " (manual and modularly structured course materials) for the training course will be elaborated. The training course will consist of 4-6 modules. The course materials will be evaluated in a pilot phase in all five countries. A homepage will disseminate the European Training Course on School Development (course materials and the national case studies of best practices) to interested institutions and experts . At a final conference the training course and the homepage will be presented to experts and key stake holders in educational reform. To enhance the European dimension of ESDP, the Training Course aims to be included in the Comenius 2.2 catalogue.
