Project is focused on edition of a monograph which, drawing upon qualitatively conceived research, will
analyze developments in political sciences of Central European countries (Czech Republic, Hungary, Poland,
Slovakia) in 1989-2009. Research will be based on standard – in this environment, however, still almost absent
– methodology as used for evaluation of developmental dynamics of respective disciplines. Research field will
be structured according to following points: (1) area research; (2) subdisciplinary focus, taking into account
Political Science, International Relations, and European Studies; and (3) issue areas, including the process of
re-definition of discipline; institutional development; most frequently applied paradigms, theories, methods and
issues; publishing strategies; relationships to other social sciences; relationship of public area and academy.
Project will result in a series of texts. Outputs published in English will inform on state of the art in Central
European political sciences, offering valuable information to general and scholarly public alike.
