A documentation of handwritten and printed materials stored in the Music Department of the Moravan Museum and in private archives of composers is crucial for any further research activity in the field of music culture after 1945. A seeming inadequacy and practical inaccessibility of the documents prevents a more systematic research in the territory.The individual documents will be labelled (signature, place of storage, classification of document, name, persons, place, dimensions, language, address, number of pages, date of publication); they will be provided with annotation and key words. Selected, scientifically and editorially important documents will be transcribed and provided with notes; damaged documents will be digitalized and put into supplements. In regard to technology, an application created by the company Firmadat will be used, which was originally created for the editing of Janáček's correspondence.This application will be adapted for the documentation of stenographic records, programmes, posters, personal texts and personal documents of composers.
