INVEST4MUNI

The INVEST4MUNI project focuses on improving the university’s physical environment, which is key to providing modern and effective education, in line with Masaryk University’s strategic objectives. The project’s target group comprises students at all levels of study, including those with special needs, as well as university staff. The vision of high-quality education will be realised through building renovation, the modernisation and expansion of teaching spaces and laboratories, and the procurement of equipment, furnishings and technical facilities that meet the latest standards in education and research.
The INVEST4MUNI project involves the modernisation and fitting out of selected buildings across the faculties, with the aim of improving the quality of teaching, access to education and the safety of students and staff:

• At the Faculty of Economics and Administration, language teaching facilities will be refurbished, classrooms will be equipped with ICT and audiovisual technology, and a hybrid room will be created to facilitate online collaboration between students and lecturers.
• The Faculty of Informatics will enhance its facilities and infrastructure for training ICT specialists, including hardware for artificial intelligence.
• The Faculty of Sports Studies will gain a new outdoor sports ground and equipment for the newly constructed multi-purpose sports hall.
• The Faculty of Law and the Faculty of Social Studies are modernising selected lecture, study and seminar rooms.
• The Faculty of Education will purchase equipment for visual stimulation and rehabilitation to meet the needs of the newly established Centre for Visual Therapy.
• The Faculty of Arts will improve the accessibility of teaching (not just) for students with special needs and create new facilities both in Brno and for practical teaching at the Těšetice archaeological site.
• The Faculty of Medicine will expand the facilities and accessibility of the Centre for Medicinal Plants, the oldest botanical garden of its kind in the Czech Republic.
• The Bohunice campus will see the creation of modern teaching facilities for the Faculties of Pharmacy, Science and Medicine, and the Preclinical Centre, as part of the newly constructed BioPharma Hub, including the necessary state-of-the-art laboratory and audiovisual equipment.
• Across Masaryk University as a whole, the project will enhance safety through the signage of buildings, the installation of locking systems and evacuation announcement systems, including the creation of a central security hub.
