The programme is focused on applied research projects, i.e. projects designed to obtain new knowledge directed towards a specific, predetermined practical goal with a given application of the results in health care. Applied Health Research is aimed at solving problems related to the diagnosis, treatment and prevention of human diseases. The program is divided into three main areas:

• Public Health (Socioeconomic Aspects of Healthcare, Digitization of the Healthcare System, Demographic Changes and Care for the Elderly, Healthcare, Promoting Health Literacy and Patient Orientation, Health Promotion and Prevention, Global Health)
• Pathogenesis and Development of Diseases
• Innovative Solutions for Medicine
