100 Years of Zdeněk Kožmín

Professor Zdeněk Kožmín (born February 28, 1925) was a prominent figure in Czech literary scholarship, the cultural life of Brno, and Masaryk University. He was an outstanding scholar and teacher and an exceptionally kind and wise person. His lectures covered Czech and world literature (Jan Skácel, Franz Kafka, Samuel Beckett) and philosophy (Jan Patočka, Paul Ricoeur, Jacques Derrida).

We will honour his legacy on the eve of his birth anniversary in the Reading Room of the Faculty of Arts (kaFFe). The commemorative event will also feature an exhibition about Kožmín’s life and work. The event will be introduced by doc. Jan Tlustý.
