Dutch Studies in Moravia celebrate 75 years of existence in 2022. Moravian Dutch Studies are represented by the Department of Dutch Studies at the Faculty of Arts of the Palacký University and the Dutch Section at the Faculty of Arts of the Masaryk University. In 2022 we have prepared several activities. Together with the students of Czech and Slovak Dutch Studies, we translated the book entitled Four Centuries of Comenius in the Lowlands, edited by Kees Mercks, a renowned translator from Czech into Dutch. We also participated in the preparation of the UNESCO exhibition – The Czech Trace of the Netherlands, which can be seen on the fence of the Faculty of Arts of MU. The exhibition will end on 5 October 2022 at 7 pm with a gala concert by Johan Meijer at Villa Löw Beer.

The culmination of the celebrations will be the Dutch Translation Day on 7 October 2022, which will be attended by Czech and Slovak students of Dutch who will try their hand at translation under the guidance of experienced translators. The day will end with a lecture by Kees Mercks on J. A. Comenius. The language of the conference is Dutch.
