Hodokvas: A Medieval Celebration

On the 27th of November 2025, VKH calls all good people to a grand celebration, the Hodokvas in honor of the Church Year’s Eve! 🍻 Join us in the heart of Brno at the Old Town Hall (Radnická 8), where laughter, song, and rhythmic dancing will echo late into the night. 🌙 The band Čemeřice will provide the music to make both halls and hearts dance! 🎻 Masters of their instruments and the joyful spirit, they will get even those polishing their swords in the corner moving. 💃🕺

Why do we celebrate the Church Year’s Eve? 🕯️

While the world awaits the New Year in January, the Church year begins with Advent, a season of expectation and hope. 🌟 At the end of November, we bid farewell to the year of faith, give thanks for the moments we have lived, and joyfully welcome a new beginning. 🙏 Though rooted in Catholic tradition 🎚️, our Hodokvas is open to everyone who wants to celebrate more than once a year, with friends, song, dance, and a glass of wine in hand. 🍷✨ Come dressed in your finest garb 🎭 whether as a knight in shining armor 🛡️, a princess in a veil 🌹, a wandering bard 🎶, or a court jester, imagination knows no bounds! Entrance fee: 100 CZK in costume, 150 CZK without (cash only 💰).
