The project "Jungmann´s work Slovesnost in the context of modern Czech stylistics" is linked with a grant project "History of Czech studies from the diachronic point of view" (No. 405/03/1418). Its main aiím is to provide a detailed description of Jungmann´s approach to the theory of style and its points of contact with modern Czech stylistics, as it has been developing since the 1920s. Attention will be paid to sources that had influenced Jungmann´s approach and also to differences between the first (1820) and second (1845,1846-resp.) editions of Slovesnost. Since Jungmann´s work is practically unavailable at present, a new edition with added commentaries is planned as a part of the project.
