The project was designed to meet the need to ensure full accessibility for deaf adult to
information on disease prevention, care for physical and mental well-being, sensitive
and complex issues such as drugs and their effects, alcohol also in relation to driving,
sexually transmitted diseases and others. Although today's deaf adults are much more
engaged in different activities to protect their physical and mental health, it needs to be
acknowledged that communication barriers prevent them from fully enjoying the
initiatives promoted by public administrations and authorities, both at local and
national level, regarding disease prevention and accessibility to health services.
