Description The goal of this paper is to describe main features in expressing of territorial identity in French rap, as a proof of an identity legitimacy gain process in Parisian suburban areas. The study is based on rap texts from the department of Val-de-Marne and results of questionnaires between young auditors. The diffusion of lexical innovations through the rap is shown on some neologisms.
