| Description | The paper aims to summarize main features of contemporary French slang and the goals of its lexicographic description. The data for the investigation were drawn from a cooperation of the students of Masaryk University with Lingea Publishing on the second edition of French-Czech slang dictionary Pas de bleme! during the spring semester of 2012. In order to capture the dynamic nature of substandard levels of French, we present an overview of a complex sociocultural situation in France as well as main word-formation aspects and common themes of language innovation by the young generation. |
