| Description | On the basis of letters of common authors (this material was gathered at the Department of Czech Language, Faculty of Arts, Masaryk University, Brno), this contribution analysed in detail tendencies in the development of conventions of greeting and addressing people, as they are reflected in selected 20th century letters. Attention is also paid to pragmalinguistic and gender aspects of this topic as well as to tensions between the conventional vs. the individual ways of communication as they are expressed. |
