| Description | The contribution presented materials form the Corpus of Private Correspondence (KSK-dopisy) as a source for an exploration of tendencies in word-formation in the sphere of emotionally marked vocabulary and vocabulary belonging to the spheres of slang and of common language of young people. Possibilities and partial results of word-formation analysis of hypocorisms were presented, other topics included methods of abbreviating words (univerbation and formal abbreviation), diminutives (with regard to pragmalinguistic aspects), intensification (with regard to adjectives modifying the extent of properties and to adverbs formed from these adjectives) and specific types of deriving feminine forms from masculine animate nouns. Special attention is paid to language play and to testing borderline possibilities of language, which is typical of private correspondence of young people and of their language in general. |
