Citation
Description Our lecture will attempt to clarify the meaning of Czech writers of the second half of the nineteenth century, not only for Czech literature, but also for literature on a European scale. Julius Zeyer was considered “le plus francophile” of all Czech writers of the nineteenth century. Adaptation of the method considered in his time as very important (more important than literary translation) for performance and understanding of works of ancient times, different cultures and different nations. But it is Czech and French culture, which were always in the center of his creative attention.
