Description The analysis of Michel Tremblay's Cahiers (Le cahier noir, 2003; Le cahier rouge, 2004; Le cahier bleu, 2005) examines the parallels between the emergence of writing and the narrator family history: break from his natural family and integration into a new community that blends social marginality and the avant-garde. It is this transfiguration of marginality, according Tremblay, that is the source of the renewal of popular, national culture.
