Description This presentation discussed the free licences usage on Public Sector Information in the Czech law. The author used the example of Open Data Commons licences and their deployment in the Czech law with their limitations by mandatory rules in the Czech Copyright Act. The Czech regulation of this area varies between classic copyright and database sui generis rights. It also involved basic benefits and caveats of these licences in the Czech Republic and answers the question whether the public bodies are allowed to waive their database sui generis right or to grant the license to the public. It also mentions some examples of public sector information which is available using the open schemes (which are rather rare in the Czech Republic) and benefits of the PSI in open schemes.
