Description This paper summarises preliminary results of the project to evaluate development of the settlement in the Jevišovka River basin from prehistoric up to modern times. The project included a surface survey, which focused on the Únanovka River basin, during which published sites were verified and currently undiscovered sites were identified. During the project, an area of about 9.5 hectares was investigated and over 2,000 artefacts were found. Most of these artefacts were ceramics, mainly medieval and modern, as well as prehistoric ceramics, chipped and polished stone industry. The surface finds dated from the Neolithic to the present day. The information obtained will contribute to the overall interpretation of settlement strategies in the region in the future.
