Description The beginnings of the Liechtensteins are associated with Austria. The first was Hugo from the time 1120/30-1143. Until the construction of Liechtenstein Castle, he was known after Leesdorf and he obtained the goods on the Zaya stream. Hugo s successors had allodial Petronell with the residence, the other castle in Rohrau is the work of Dietrich (1230). Heinrich I. built two boroughs near Altlichtenwarth and St. Ulrich. When Přemysl Otakar II. gave Mikulov to Heinrich in 1249, the castle and the domain represented a huge acquisition for the family.
