Citation
Description The idea for this book arose from the observation that the figure of the bishop still remains in relative bibliographic darkness. Despite its central position in the ecclesiastical organization and its overall importance in the political, spiritual, cultural and social life, as well as in the imagination of medieval Christianity, the one art historians in particular have not given him any the necessary attention. The dead Bishop seemed a good starting point to address the issues raised by this figure importantly of all work on the Middle Ages.
