Description In my lecture I proposed model of potential usefulness of cinema for teaching history on high school. My main thesis was that historical fictions are for this purpose surprisingly much more useful than historical reconstructions. Validity of the thesis I tested through (a) relation between fictional worlds and historical worlds, (b) cognitive aspects of viewer's processing, (c) checking assumptions on the concrete material (films Vyšší princip and Všichni dobří rodáci).
