Description In the paper are presented syntactical parallels between Russian and several Turkic languages. Our data are based on an Old-Russian text "Zhitiye Andreya Yurodivogo" ("The Life of Andrei the Fool") and grammars of several Turkic languages (e.g. Tuvin, Mongolian, Turkish languages). Based on assumption that syntactical parallels in these languages have not only identical form, but also syntactical function, we present a hypothesis, that Old-Russian participles could play in the Russian grammatical system the same or at least very similar role as their counterparts in Turkic languages.
