Description Music is one of the most abstract media of artistic expression. Its matters are mere vibrations of different materials represented in the symbolic form of notation or as a recordings. Walter Benjamin's "here and now" is the spacetime of its existence. In the moment when music moved to an environment of digital media, the last bounds to physical media were disrupted and music became abstract code. The already strong desire of artists for something material and physically deformable was strengthened by deepening dematerialization of the world of music. The following lecture tries to present the possible causes and consequences of this frustration. On several historical examples are being pointed out the various ways of the physical materialization of music from the late 20th century to the present. The lecture proves that music under specific conditions can become body, architecture or sculpture.
