Description This contribution is zoomed on phenomenon of co called national houses in the 19th and at the beginning of the 20th century. Specifically on the segment of that built by the German inhabitants of Moravian towns. National houses rose in the time of strengthened nationalism, when nations of the Moravia differ more and more. Investors of these building were often clubs and associations who joined together to built a representative building, so the national houses were centres of social life. The contribution attempted: 1. to define national house as a specific building type; 2. to examine how the national delimitation can influenced architecture itself or the decorations; 3. to be a guide through most significant German national houses in Moravia.
