Description Recodification of domestic private law, which occurred in 2012, into the Czech legal system returns a number of terms and legal institutions that have been omitted from the civil legislation in the 50s of last century. Among these changes is also included the legislation of the acquisition of property rights by increase, which was, compared to the previous Civil Codes, significantly expanded. This paper is focused on the question of the acquisition of ownership right to the alluvia and gulch located on the banks of the watercourse in the new Civil Code. The author focuses on legal aspects of these phenomena which have roots in Roman law. In conclusion, the author thinks about the impact of these rules into the current legal practice.
