Description Parental involvement in children's lives, parental attitude toward their education and collaboration with school, play a very important role in children's education. Collaboration and cooperation between family and school may be affected, by cultural and ethnic differences. They can be observed in the relations between families and school due to different approaches to bringing up children and different standpoints taken by parents and school when it comes to children's education, their academic success and playing a direct part in their lives. The purpose of this paper is to identify present relations between Czech schools and Russian families in acculturation process. The paper will describe the differences between Russian and Czech schools as seen by Russian parents, and how they react to those.
