Description The Moravian branch of the Altgraviate and Princely House of Salm-Reifferscheidt created a collection of paintings that was for the most part preserved in the chateau Rájec nad Svitavou. In the past few years the collection has received careful professional attention. A notable set of works was rather neglected, yet, especially in the 19th century, acquisitions of drawings and graphics were closely related to painting purchases of individual family members, therefore, Rájec chateau collections include graphic works and drawings by the same authors who are represented by their paintings too. For example, the Salm-Reifferscheidt family gained a number of drawings by Joseph Führich, Ludwig Ferdinand Schnorr von Carolsfeld or Edward Jakob von Steinle.
