Description Teaching adult learners can be a fun and rewarding experience. However, it may also come with its own set of challenges. Some learners come to class with pre-conceived ideas about how languages should be learned, some come with established learning barriers based on previous experience, and some come with both of the above plus the weight of the world on their shoulders from a tough day. These are just a few of the things which may pose issues for teachers, as well as hinder the learners' learning experience. This session will take a look at how we can better understand the baggage some learners bring to class, and explore a few ways of approaching texts and topics so that we can navigate our learners to success.
