Description The following problem is analyzed in this chapter: the identity of a priest as modern artist, as well as concord and discord of both identities, especially in the milieu of Czech Catholic Modernism and its followers. Four priests who were active as visual artists are introduced: Benedictine monk Sigismund Ludvík Bouška (1867-1941), Antonín Thein Runié (1870-1944), Matěj Müller (1882-1951) and Arnošt Hrabal (1886-1969).
