Description The study contains the analysis of the false palatine privilege of Sigismund of Luxembourg for the South German public notary John Seydenneyer of Erkingen from 6th February 1417. It contains the description of the charter, the analysis of common forms of palatine privileges issued by Emperor Sigismund and by his father Charles IV as well as the comparison of the forgery with the authentic charters. It concludes that the forgery was produced by John Seydenneyer in 1420s and most probably imitated an original palatine privilege of Charles IV. and some other charter issued by King Sigismund. There is also the edition of the forgery and the list of the authentic palatine privileges issued by Sigismund of Luxembourg.
