Description The experimental workshops on high medieval and late medieval pottery at Panská Lhota already have a four-yearlong tradition. In the course of the past seven workshops, various ceramic assemblages and possibilities of their analysis and evaluation have been presented and discussed. The usual macroscopic description is supplemented with natural scientific analyses. The workshops, which have been organised since 2015 under the auspices of the UNESCO Chair, helped to establish international cooperation with the Laboratory for Experimental Archaeology at Mayen, whose founder is the Romano-Germanic Central Museum Mainz. The experimental part of the workshop tested the hypotheses concerning production marks on pottery, inclusive of firing with the help of reconstructed pyrotechnical devices. The scientific and research base in Panská Lhota currently has the necessary equipment for ceramic experiments and processing of archaeological pottery.
