Description St Augustine and Boethius were non only theologians and philosopher; their immense impact on the literary form and style is exposed. Augustine's Confession developed an inner monologue, a stream of consciousness, while Boethius remains a point of reference namely for his depiction of Fortuna in his De consolatione philosophiae.
