| Description | The play was first introduced on the occasion of the 600th anniversary of Master Jan Hus' execution at the stake. The action takes place in Constance at the time of ecclesiastical council which was organized primarily to deal with the problems of papal schism but it was also concerned with the case of this Bohemian heretic preacher. The audience gets acquainted with the curiosities of Hus' life and watches his trial in front of the Holy Roman Emperor Sigismund of Luxemburg. The aim of the play is to point out that the interpretations of his personality are often contradictory.
