| Description | The aim of the paper was to testify the hypothesis that the dialectal dictionaries of Spanish, even the differential ones, could be a valuable source for the history of vocabulary if a complementary textual documentation proceeding from the same area and era is taken into account. In this particular case the source taken into consideration was the Mexican Spanish differential dictionary Diccionario de mejicanismos by Feliz Ramos i Duarte. After reading thouroughly the dictionary we can state that its contribution is not great but from the qualitative point of view it brings interesting data about history of Gypsy loanwords in the colloquial Mexican Spanish. |
