Description The article presents an inventory of the chateau’s picture gallery in Velké Hoštice based on a surviving copy from a later date of the original inventory that was drawn up after his death of his founder Count Ignaz Dominik Chorynsky of Ledske. It also presents a list of the books on art, architecture, gardens and collecting that figured among his property. That list is reconstructed from a partial inventory of his library from the late 19th century and from catalogues published in connection with the sale of a large part of it at three auctions that were held in 1930 and 1932 by Hamburg antiquarians Hans Götz and Franz Dörling. The article also presents detailed findings on the history of the both collections, attempts to reconstruct the themes and authors they consisted of, and identifies several works that were originally part of the painting collection.
