Description The paper describes the "barbarian" state as a type. Discussed is its mostly polyethnical structure, the kingship and its supports (in sacrality of the king, in his retinue, in war, relations with the Roman Empire, the support in legislation, tradition, genealogy, ceremony of investiture and in the church). Discussed are also the bearer of statehood of these states and their specific legal situation. The "barbarian Germanic state is compared to the so called Empire of Attila. This is considered "barbarian state" with some features of the state of so called Ancient Oriental type.
