Description This contribution aims to describe, explain and interpret everyday situations teachers found themselves in, having to meet the tasks assigned to them by the party in power and comply with the directives of the Communist Party of Czechoslovakia designed to implement its secularization policies. We are specifically interested in what tasks they were expected to meet and how they complied with them. We are also concerned with what the ideological-political training of teacher-to-be during their study at pedagogical faculties was.The study shows that the situations teachers found themselves in in connection with meeting these tasks were often not easy to face. This was, on the one hand, due to the expectations of the political establishment that teachers would obey their instructions meticulously and without reservations. The teachers, on the other hand, strove to interfere with their students’, or the latter’s parents’ lives in negative ways as little as possible.
