Description The use of computers, Internet, mobile phone, electronic banking are now common activities carried out by modern man as part of his job, managing a household or at leisure activities. If one has a compelling need to constantly perform and dominate his life negatively, they become so-called non-substance addictions. The aim of the study was to assess the incidence of non-substance dependence in a sample of students at Masaryk University. Using the snowball sampling method were interviewed nearly 2,500 full-time students from 9 faculties of the University. It was submitted to an anonymous questionnaire focused on experience with the so-called virtual drugs (computer, mobile phone, internet, watching TV), gambling and other potentially hazardous activities (shopholism, loans, bets). The obtained data were subjected to statistical analysis (x2 test) in programs EPIINFO and Statistica. On slot game ever played a third of respondents, on winning slot machine a fifth, men more often. Play on the computer or game console tried by 80% of respondents, most often an hour a day. A third of the sample used for mobile phone, half to send messages, manipulate mostly to one hour a day. The Internet is at 40% used for surfing, 15% for handling web applications, e-mail and movement on social networks, 10% of the chat. Network spends most respondents 1-3 hours per day, more than 75% of them have met with various hazards. More than 40% of the group you have ever bet, especially men. Own experience with modern information and communication technologies have all respondents. It is therefore very important to keep their usage control.
