| Description | This paper traces the cultural-political and production conditions of the cooperation between the Czechoslovakian and East German studios . The success of the project at the production stage and the popularity with audience in various countries resulted from several key factors: the pragmatic approach of the co-production partners; the demand for popular audience-oriented productions, which was intensified due to a creative crisis during the normalization years on the side of Barrandov; „rapprochement“ and harmonization of both countries in the first half of 1970's in the field of both cultural politics and the organization of the film industry; the sharing the story of Cinderella as a part of a national literary canon. |
