Citation
Description This chapter discusses the way, in which the ancient Greek culture was interpreted in Sokol movement's cultural performances, for example in the Celebration of the Consecration the flag in 1862, in the Sokol first Slet in 1882 and especially in the Slet in 1912, where the mass theatre performance called Marathon took part. These cultural performances were an important part of constructing-identity processes in the period of modern Czech nation formation.
