Description The text examines the category of gender in comparative Slavic context, focusing only on some of its aspects, namely words with hesitation in gender; nouns with common gender; nouns with two main forms of different gender; toponyms. In contrastive plan we consider two genetically closely related languages in which the gender as a grammatical category is almost identical, but the differences in some cases may be the cause of language interference.
