Description The Viking Age thrills until today many history fans aas a time of numerous and epic land and sea battles. But only a fraction of readers takes into account that the Vikings were attempting to fight their battles on sea as if it were land battles. One of the almost perfect examples is the famous battle of Svoldr, in which the Norse king Olaf Tryggvason and the unifier of the Norway fought against the numerically superior force of the Danes, the Swedes and also the Norse. Alrthough he ruled only five years his memory was epitomized mainly thanks to his heroic death during the battle of Svoldr.
