Description The presentation dealt with the different formats of Edo period popular fiction, explored the connection between their form and contens and examined the use of space in such books. Based on measurements of text/illustration ratio in some of these books, a suggestion has been made towards a more careful distinction of form and genre in Edo period kusazoshi books.
