Description Since the end of the 13th century, the Ethiopian rulers sent their agents to Italy. They should help to find allies in solving religious disputes in the country. Another reason was the recruit of Italian artists for the Ethiopian court. As a result, new iconographic themes were gradually adapted in the Ethiopian painting.
